Comedian/Actor/Fool

A former newspaper reporter/columnist, Ben San Del emcees and features at comedy clubs throughout the region, including the renowned Acme Comedy Company. He won Acme's Funniest Person in the Twin Cities Contest in 2006 and has written and performed two hit one-man shows for the Minneapolis Fringe Festival: "Mittens for Fat Kids" and "Strawberry Fields Temporarily." His third show, "Animal Cracker Genocide," will be an hour of new stand-up comedy debuting in August.

Ben’s comedy mixes the intellectual with the absurd, balancing intellectual wordplay with playfully immature wit that appeals to college students, retirees and everyone in between. The St. Paul Pioneer Press has called his performance "sharp, with perfect pacing," and the City Pages has called him a "reliably on-target stalwart."
